WHO IS AFRAID OF GMB? ‘Woe to thee that spoilest, and thou wast not spoiled; and dealest treacherously, and they dealt not treacherously with thee! when thou shalt cease to spoil, thou shalt be spoiled; and when thou shalt make an end to deal treacherously, they shall deal treacherously with thee.’Isaiah 33:1 ( KJV) Lately, having watched the Nigerian political scene with keen interest, especially since the emergence of (Rtd.) General Muhammudu Buhari as the presidential flag bearer of the APC, curiously the diabolical frenzied attack on Buhari’s candidature and personality have been at an all time high by the ruling PDP. But rather than the shenanigans and immature antics of the ruling party to diminish Buhari’s popularity, the reverse seem to be the case, as the ‘Buhari-Brand’ seem to be breaking newer grounds of acceptance by even the most cynical critic. From a man perceived as being an Islamic fundamentalist, but when it came to the public domain that one of Buhari’s beautiful urban daughter is married to an Igbo man who is a Christian, even residing among the Igbo folks somewhere in Anambra state. The goons branded GMB as a religious bigot, yet it is on record that most of his domestic staffs are Christians. As a military Head of State in 1983-4 Buhari is famed to be someone who gives his Christians staffs off days on Sundays and during Christian holidays. The eighteen months Buhari held sway as head of state, is characterized as even a period when Nigeria had more Christians in any regime cabinet as serving ministers and military governors. Perhaps, the unrelenting traducers of GMB are still at a loss to be seeing a rebranded Buhari, who has done away with the old ways of doing things. They woke up one morning to see GMB in designer suit with pencil pant, ‘Hi-Fiving’ a five year old boy in a cozy executive office only fit for a president like president Obama, very fit, suave without air but someone who is ready for the job at hand ,to deliver the dividends of democracy. The guess is that the traducers areshell-shocked and pained that the Old horse is doing things differently; this has even made him to look younger and to be more appealing to all and sundry. Blogs and sites became awash with lovely eye-popping family picture of the Buhari’s, the pictures became the hot topic in places, offices, people Google for the pictures, enjoyed looking at the pictures and even shared the album on popular social net works. Even the campaign posters and ads are in tune with today’s reality. Have you seen GMB lookingdapper in Efik attire, the lovely Igbo wears matched with the famed Igbo red cap and ensemble, all these add up to the fact that over the years general Buhari had learned lots of experience on the political terrain. Rather than do the work of their own principal by selling his candidature to the teeming populace, the PDPgoons political garb and even intellectual pests who have continually fester on our collective wealth within the corridor of power at the center, go to town to use all sort of underhand antics by engaging in rumour, out-right falsehoods and mudslinging to do the hatchet job, for their pay master. They first started, with the age thing, thinking the septuagenarian toga will destabilize GMB, but Alas! That didn’t fly. Annoyingly, they changed tactics desperately started asking for Buhari’s certificateat the bemusement of a laughing global world, even the western world is shell-shocked about the kind of desperatepolitics we play in this clime, they called the gentle General an illiterate jackboot. When they noticed that no one bought that hug-wash Nigerians, even told these jobless peddlers of falsehood that even if GMB presents PHCN bill or bread label as certificate they will vote for him. The peddlers of falsehood asked for Buhari’s wife, GMB shot them-up, when majestically Hajiah Aishat Buhari stepped on the podium oozing class and elegance she held Nigerians spell bound with her charm and carriage. Not done with that, even president Jonathan in a very brazen unpresidential manner have used such demining terms in a desperate bid to make Buhari’s look unelectable to Nigerians, he called the General all sort of names like; methuselah, and a sufferer of dementia who cannot remember his phone numbers. The seeming attitudes of Mr. Jonathan smirk of a failed captain, who seems to be sinking with failure staring him in the face. The immature utterances of, serving ministers like Dayo Adeyeye, aides like Doyin Okupe, Rueben Abati, Olisa Metuh, Reno Omokri, the loquacious Femi Fani-Kayode even serving Governors like the ever fickle Ayo Fayose ,Olusegun Mimiko, and even top hierarchy of the ruling People’s Democratic Party leaves much to be desired, rather than talk about issues in their campaigns and looking for ways to mend their much maligned umbrella of incompetence, mediocrity a perceived haven for corrupt people with shady characters. The goons will stop at nothing, they went as far as digging into the lifestyle of Zarah, Buhari’s pretty under graduate daughter who is schooling in U.K, talking about her octane life style, within seconds the pretty Zarah became social network trend setter, pulled loads of followers on twitter and Facebook, became the most soughed new kid on the block on Google with several young dudes ogling wishing she was their date even the ever critical ladies out their have lauded Zarah as someone who will make a good first daughter. Not weary the GMB traducers latest antics is to brandish the health status of the APC presidential contestant as someone suffering from prostrate cancer; this has been debunked by Buhari, who admonished the perpetrators of falsehood, that he is hale and hearty, rather asking the Jonathanians to engage in issue based campaigns rather than campaigns of calumny and mudslinging. Even the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital the source through which the perpetrators of falsehood claim put the health Question mark on Buhari has come out to categorically called the disclaimed that such falsehood never ever emanated from her records. The Bible made us to understand that ‘the heart of men of perpetually wicked’ how could any sane human wish a fellow human being sick or falsely brand him as carrier of a terminal illness? By now have these perpetrators of falsehood not realized that all they have done so far had only continued to further the presidential cause of Muhammudu Buhari, the vilification they spewed is not even helping Goodluck Jonathan in his re-election bid. Rather all the antics are even making the opposition, especially Muhammudu Buhari to be more popular public eye. So who is afraid of the Muhammudu Buhari? From his antecedents Buhari has been known to be a man with strong contempt for indiscipline and corruption, a loyal lover of truth synonymous with ‘Sai-Gaskia!’ as GMB is branded in all the Northern states. There is a certain jittery corrupt school of thought and their mentors who are scared of even their own shadows. They have been going to town to pre-empt future rise in jail house in the country. Suddenly, our dear Mr. President Jonathan suddenly reminded us how he hopes to fight corruption if he is re-elected. He said he will build and fortify institutions to fight corruption the hydra-headed monster which remains Nigerian Achilles heel, has he forgotten institutions like almost moribund NAFDAC,EFFC,ICPC,BPE ?,etc…. Machiavelli argues that every ruler needs to be Bold, Competent, Tactful, Intelligent, Posses leadership skills, Command respect and must not lack Charisma. He said further that a ruler must learn how to conceal his intention, he should not give room (Negatively) for anybody to become more powerful than him lest he ruins himself. He argues that a ruler must 'sometimes' act as a lion and as cunning as a fox and must also have a foresight. In addition, he advice a ruler to understand vices as rulers virtues and vice-versa. Suddenly, Jonathan is desperately imposing his candidature on us with little or no form of tangible achievements in six years? Suddenly, the foot soldiers of JEG are swarming all over Nigerians to open books to show us the achievements of this administration which in most cases doesn’t translate to reality that really affects the average Nigerian on the street. The point must be noted, that JEG look like a nice fella being driven by ambition. But he is surrounded by lots of hypocrites and people of shady characters. Suddenly, religion has become a huge issue being bandied by the political folks to sway voters? Suddenly, it occurred to Mr. President to say that his generation has failed, rather that owning up to his own failings he generalized by trying to drag everyone on the fast dwindling JEG project? Suddenly, the ruling class at the federal level are afraid of change and the popularity of the opposition APC seem to have stung them in their stride, so much that they seem to have abandoned campaigning for the re-election of their principal, rather they keep engaging in blatant hate, mudslinging and falsehood all in a bid to the make the electorates not see anything good in the APC candidate. What the ignorant traducers of GMB don’t realize is that the electorates have made up their minds to vote for a presidential candidate with leadership quality to tame the serious security issues we have in the land, make corruption less attractive to the populace especially from those whom have been vested with the people’s trust to lead them for the next four years. Nigerians from all walks of life are saying their life isn’t any better than it was in 2010. Suddenly, the president Jonathan remembered the road leading to the North-east to empathize with our unfortunate folks who have in the last three years been pummeled, plundered and traumatized by Boko Haram insurgents, close to 300 days now the Chibok girls and several others whom the government cannot account for are missing, yet this government has not inspired hope in the world about the safe return of all those who have been abducted. Now several Nigerians are living within Nigeria and some niegbouring countries as Internally Displaced Persons, victims of unwholesome circumstances groping on hope that someday soon their will be a better tomorrow. In this year’s presidential election, Nigerians will be more interested in a leader with the capacity to take responsibility, a leader who will be sensitive to the feelings and yearnings of the teeming populace. Suddenly, this administration wants public goodwill by removing N10 from the pump price, after several hues and cries from members of the public and when governments in more sensible clime had already done the needful. THE QUESTION IS; IS N10 THE WORTH THE AVERAGE NIGERIAN? Talking about goodwill, president Jonathan rode to power on the back of avalanche of goodwill cum stroke of divine posterity four years ago, but through his actions, comportment and the clownish antics of desperate politicians, and certain morally bankrupt men and women, he surrounds himself with president Jonathan squandered all the trust and good will Nigerians bestow on him, by always looking to make the opposition the fall guy for his failings. Those who are verse in psychology will adduce the present state of our democratic practice and the way politicians especially the ruling party go about doing their thing as the Fear-Factor. Palpable fear is what makes a marketer not talk about his own product or brand rather engaging in talking about rival brand even to prospective buyer. Fear of inferiority is what will make a lady talk endlessly about her perceived rival rather than working on making herself more desirable for her man. Fear is what will make an organization to express desperate traits by engaging in mudslinging rival brand that is doing well in the market, fear is what will make you dwell by talking more about your rival. It is fear that will make a man engage in idle talk these and many other perennial childish traits. Nigerians please wake up to your civic responsibility, ensure you pick up your permanent voters card, on election days February 14th-28th play your part by electing credible persons into political office across board. Do not engage in electoral violence. God bless Nigeria!!! What do you get when a witch is on Youtube (a video sharing website where users can share, upload and watch videos)? She confesses about many things especially about late rapper, Dagrin. You also get mixed reactions in the form of “authoritative” analysis, illogical explanations, denials etc.
Lately, twitter was awash with info from Nigerians about “a witch” who claimed to be helping some Nigerians in climbing the ladder of success .

The “witch” (Esther Falodun) mentioned many notable Nigerians from Obasanjo to Babaginda but what caught many people’s attention was that Dagrin’s name is on her list as well as Fathia’s and Saidi Balogun in the video titled Asiri Nla.
Sources said the alleged “witch” died immediately after her confession in which she claimed to belong to the same group as Fathia Balogun and that she helped Dagrin to attain fame and popularity. Falodun said she had to cut him “short” when he did not honor his part of the deal.

Dagrin’s name in her list of beneficiaries surprised quite some people, because the deceased rapper died within six months of his rise to stardom. It’s indisputable that the late rapper became famous by featuring in YQ’s album in 2009. He established himself as an artist of note with lyrical rhythms and many collabos . His second album was a classic hit and many predicted he would rule 2010, but just when the fame and money started rolling in, Dagrin, whose real name is Olaitan Olaonipekun died few days after a ghastly motor accident at a Lagos hospital.

Falodun’s confession which is on CD is selling in Lagos and has resulted in a controversy about the authenticity of her confessions. Many believe her confessions were stage-managed.
Tunde, Dagrin’s manager, said the woman lied. “The whole thing was cooked-up . We don’t have time for people like that. The young woman also alleged she helped Obasanjo and Babaginda. How old was she to have helped these people? Secondly, she confessed in a room privately. A confession is not done in a room, it is done publicly. They are looking for what to eat” he concluded.

Ope Banwo said the video and confession CD is “riddled with inaccuracies, production and factual flaws” . “To be honest with you, the whole thing is fake. I have watched the video and I’m sure the whole thing is fake. The video depicted a woman who had been beaten . A chicken was beside the woman and it didn’t move for one hour. Does that look real to you…?
